Ok, so I have a question...I am handfeeding a few babies, and the older ones have gotten so messy in feeding...I use a papertowel and warm water to bathe the chin area but can't seem to soak it off well enough? Am I doing something wrong? Would a washcloth work better? Thanks! Jean in Illinois

warm, clean paper towel right after you feed them. In time, it goes away but I find out you can't wait until you've fed the whole clutch to wipe away the formula. Also, try to thin out your formula a bit. This may be your issue. If they are otherwise healthy, all of that formula should make it down their crop unless the formula is too thick.
Hope this helps, Leslie

Thanks! I think it is that I miss the bird's left side since I feed with the right side facing...These babies feed so vigorously that I may be just out of sync too...Okeedokee, thanks for the pointers! Jean
