Hey guyz ;D ;D happy to be in this forum .Though it takes a lot of time to find . I have got two pairs of cockatiel in my home for more than 2years now.still now i have not disturbed those two apart from cleaning the cage and keeping the feeds. But now i em very much interested to train one of the baby cockatiels who is just out of his nest box.it does not know to crack the seeds as well. All it does is it can chew some green leaves.i just want to know how to train my abner[its name]. i tame it around 2hrs a day. I have been doing this for about a week now . Still it is afraid of me. Of-course I can wait but i need to know whether it is its natural behavious or do i need to change something. Thanks in advance

Tell us more about what you are doing, so that we can give you more information. You are doing the right thing by being consistent. It will take several weeks for Abner to get used to you.

I am so happy that you are here as well. Abner sounds adorable. It will take several more weeks to get this baby used to you, patiance is the key here. Have you tried soaking the seeds for it? This will help soften the shells and make it a bit easier. You can also add veggies like carrots and spinich as well. Soft whole grain breads are a favorite among my babys when they first come from the nest box. Have you gotten a picture of him/her yet? In my experience several shorter [15 minutes at a time] handling sessions is better than all at once. You can still spend 2 hours of more, but spread it out a bit. Please share what you are doing and we will do our best to help more, Ruth
