My husband has a grey yellow headed tiel. For the past couple weeks Ozzy will preen his back and start fussing and squawking like it hurt or bothered him to do so. Today when I went to get bird bird food I asked the lady who worked at the store her opinion and she said it could be an ingrown and inflamed pinfeather. Is this something that will take care of itself or will this need veterinary intervention? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. sandie5953

Sandie, if in doubt ask a vet for assistance. They can be you and your birds best friend. Sometimes an ingrown feather will take care of itself but more times than not intervention is your best bet, please keep us posted on how he is doing, blessings Ruth
