Hi! My name's Amanda and I volunteer with an avian rescue in Missouri. We recently took in 16 tiels after their owner passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. The rest of the family was unable to give us any information on ages, names, bonded pairs, etc.
Most of the birds are not banded but one of the two I took home to foster today is. We already have a family interested in adopting the pair and, while they are not overly concerned with age and sex, they were curious and wondered if there was a way to trace the leg band. The band is not an NCS band, but I thought I would give it a shot and see if anyone can give me any information.
The bird in question is a female pearl cockatiel. She has a silver plastic, closed band on her left leg. The leftmost side of the band has "FL" vertically before the ID of "FAV 349."
I assume the FL indicates that she was bred in Florida, but wondered if there was a way to find out her hatch date based on this info.
Any information you could point me to would be appreciated.
Thanks!

The FL means Florida. The 349 could be the Hatchdate or the file number. The FAV is the initial of the business.
I could try to get more information on how to identify the leg band on the NCS facebook group if it is ok.
