Hi, we just brought home 2 gentle, hand raised tiels. We don`t know how to sex them and the pet store was`nt sure either. Also is there a way to make them a little more vocal ? We love to listen to them, thanks, Terry.

What do you mean make them a little more vocal?
You can purchase a dna kit to have them sexed.

We love to listen to them, thanks, Terry. Can you tell us what color your cockatiels are, maybe even post a picture? Many cockatiel mutations are easily visually sexed, based on color. There are a few such as pied that one cannot visually sex but the rest are really easy. Please feel free to post pix so we can have a look and hopefully help you solve this dilemma. If they are males they will typically get more vocal as they mature. Females tend to be quieter, but not always. Best of luck hon, Ruth
