Looking for all things Tiels and stumbled upon this group. Hello all. Our home has been blessed by a beautiful bird named Kato for 30 years. He's no longer mobile but the love and affection he's given doesn't deter us one bit. I've had him 3 years longer than my wife. He's been the best pal anyone could ever want. He'll be 31 this spring. It takes quite a lot of TLC to make him happy these days. We've made so many changes to his cage and daily routine it would take a book to list them all. Kato can still sit on a perch for most of the day but falls now and then. I've started cutting his beak with a Dremel tool about a year ago. It grows too long and he can't eat. He's trained to feed from a hamster tube and drink from something similar which sits right next to him. He can't move. Just sit. Still whistles, chirps and talks to my wife Laila. Just had to share what a love these animals can be. There's so much more but enough for now. Thanks for allowing me to share........
