I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but my family's cockatiel (around 13yrs old) just lost his partner (female) and my mom put a mirror in his cage so that he won't get lonely. My mom doesn't want to get a new bird, is it ok to put a mirror or does it do more harm than good? Other than giving him more attention than before, what would be good for him. Thank you for any answers.

Sorry for your loss.
It's ok to put a mirror in the cage for him.
Just take real good care of him. Make sure he is eating and active. Maybe even put the radio on for him while everyone is out of the house so he doesn't get bored.
