One of my gf's birds just got trapped in fly paper I had mounted to keep moths down. How can we clean the bird without damaging it. We've gotten him loose and are soaking him in water. Plus we've cut back the feathers as much as we can to keep him from ingesting nay more of the tape if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated - we don't want to lose the little guy if possible.
Please respond directly to poemsbycraig1@aol.com as well as post here for other's future reference.
Thanks

If the bird has swallowed the substance you may have to induce vomiting by making him swallow a mixture of equal parts water and 3% hydrogen peroxide or a mustard and water solution. Place a small amount at the back of throat and repeat until regurgitation has occurred.
Also contact an avian vet.
