Hi All:
I'm new to this and need some help. My GF has several tiels here at my home and I'm seeing a lot of moth like critters beginning to fly around in the designated aviary area - my lanai. Is there a safe pesticide or other substance that can be used around the birds and their chicks to eliminate the critters?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Craig

I use a food grade DE (diatomaceous earth) on my chickens and other farm animals. I have even used it when the dogs have brought fleas in the house. The key words is FOOD GRADE. Some old timers use it daily on themself.

There are sticky traps that will catch the seed moths. I just use wine or beer. Leave a little in the bottom of the bottle/can and leave in the room. The birds can't get into it and the moths will go and get a drink and stay in the bottle or can. The seed moth eggs come in the seeds that are older. Freezing the seeds helps to kill them before hatching.
