I have 2 baby cockatiels, one is a cinnamon pearl pied with red eyes and one a pearl pied with black eyes. The father is a white face pearl and the mother is a normal pearl. How did the cinnamon pearl get red eyes?the father must be split to cinnamon and both parents must be split to pied but the red eyes have me stumped, any replies would be appreciated.

Not to be argumentative, but are you positive the eggs are red? How old are the babies? Is there any Lutino in their background?

Cinnamon, when you they are young, often have a ruby eye. Some eyes are very ruby and some are darker and look more black. It sounds as if you have ruby eyed babies. Any bird that takes away melanin will show their eyes as red.
