My grand daughter took the tiels outside to play in the grass today. They LOVED it. I have an enclosed 8' x 8' x 4' cage that we put the baby chickens in when it is nice out. Well, the tiels got to play in the grass and were able to fly around most of the afternoon. I don't think they have ever seen real grass before, they went crazy on it. They also liked chasing the bugs that is in the lawn. This seemed so much more fun for them than just flying around the cage or in the house.

How cute!
I haven't taken Chirpy outside since last summer. But I do take her out of the cage inside the house and she loves running around on the floor and playing with my foot.

My birds love their out of the cage time. Most is spent on the floor wandering around. I have cats that are put in their room when I let them loose. The lintels above the doors and windows are a favorite also. I use to try to get them down but have realized they will come on their own when ready. I have never been brave enough to take them outside.
