our 6 month old male needs a companion...do we get him a male, because we don't want him to bred..or do we get him a female..and if they bred..just take the eggs away and replace with them with fake ones? I would think a female would make him happier? What do you think?

Your six month old is sexually maturing and thinks he needs a companion. Acquiring a male companion for him, they may or may not get along. Of course he would be most happy with a female, then when mature there would be eggs and possibly babies. Fake eggs sometimes are accepted and sometimes not. You could also be dealing with a chronic egg layer as well. Once you acquire a companion bird for him less time will be spent with you.
