My name is Marie and my hen's name is Chirpy. Chirpy is a pied hen with a yellow head and grey patches on her cheeks ( there are also yellow specks in the grey ) and grey specks on her forehead. There are yellow patches on her breast and stomach and yellow and white patches on her back. Chirpy is 6 or 7 years old and I got her from a friend. Chirpy was not properly socialized in her last home so right now she does not like to be handled, but she likes to play with my leg when on the floor and stand on my lap. She also eats her treats directly from my hand. Chirpy's been with me for over a year now and I am soooo happy to have her and I love her.  |

Good that you and Chirpy found us, glad to have you here. It sounds like you are well on your way to establishing some good social interaction and trust with Chirpy keep working at it. It is a wonderful thing when they finally let you give their little head a scritch.

Just recently she started playing with my arm and stomach while hanging with me at the computer desk. Another friend of mine recently bought a baby Cockatiel and it sure does love her. It walks all over her arm and stands on her head. |

Chirpy is out of her cage now. Until a minute ago she was hangin with me on the playgym while at the computer. Now she is running around the floor.

Welcome to the group. How wonderful for you to have a cockatiel for a friend. They get attached to us as much if not more than we do of them. Just to give you fair warning, you can never have just one, lol. They are like potato chips, and you get another and another till you end up like many of us with flocks of 50 or more and then we wake up one morning and go HUH?  ? what happened, lol. I have two cockatiels and they are my best friends with feathers and they are my alarm clock --- they are so cute and loveable - who couldn't resist these little mischievous devils --- lol
