hi..last time i wrote on here in november my bird had laid 3 eggs sat on them for 3 weeks then went back to normal happy bird ..then in jan it did the same again 3 eggs etc. and now its sitting in the corner again as if its going to lay again ....help what can i do to stop it laying eggs there is no other bird .in cage but have notice it gets a bit randy with its seed pot haha ......any help please

In my opinion this is just part of the cycle of life. Females will lay eggs even if there isn't a male in the cage because that is what their bodies tell them to do. If I remember right, we advised you to change the cage up, as far as rearranging dishes, toys and perches. Maybe one of the long-term breeders can give you some different advice. I had three females in a cage and they were laying eggs, but now have stopped.

hi did change cage around....i have another egg this morning ...i am at my wits end she just wont stop laying it cant be good for her having eggs like this many thanks tecca

At this point the only thing I can advise you is to do is take your bird to an Avian Vet for further advice.

Have highly (even overly) prolific cockatiels been artificially selected for?
