Hello,
I am doing my research on bringing a cockatiel into my life. My mother is a breeder and I will be adopting one of her babies. She is a stay-at-home mom and her birds are used to that environment. I however, will be at work from 8 - 5 Monday - Friday. I have read that as long as I keep a variety of toys, a consistent schedule, and spend time with my bird when i come home I should be fine. I wanted to check with other owners of tiels to see if they have any other suggestions or advise for someone like me.

You can leave the TV or a radio on while you are gone during the day. You have done your due diligence and it sounds like you are prepared to become a tiel owner.
