I take my tiels out and let them play in the lawn. The cage I use lets the grass come though so the birds think they are walking on the grass. During this time they eat some of the grass. A friend had a fit when she saw this, stating it would kill the birds. They have so much fun doing this and have been eating the grass for months with no ill effects. I would hate to take this play time away from them. Any thoughts?

As long as there are no pesticides or your other animals don't use grass as a toilet, eating it should be fine.
