We received a "visit" from a cockatiel who flew into the wall of the house and dazed itself. We took him/her in to prevent the neighborhood predators from having a cockatiel buffet and are trying to find its owner. "Our" bird is a normal grey with a light grey under-body, a well-defined white band along the edge of its wings, and not much of a crest (at the moment anyway). Someone who responded to our lost and found ad sent a photo of her bird (lost a month earlier), which has a pied yellow body and to us looks very different. She thinks we have her bird; we don't want to engage in an unnecessary debate, but we disagree. Is it possible/plausible/likely that her bird might have changed color that much in a month (and survived in the SF Bay area)? We would appreciate any help you can offer. Attachments:

Adult Cockatiels do not change colors.
To avoid getting into a debate take a picture of the tiel and send it to her.

Thanks--I appreciate the information. I sent a reply with another photo a short while ago. If we can't find his home and he decides he likes it here, he (or she) may stay permanently.
