Wash and fill water tube with water and firmly attach to the cage from the outside leaving the spout part on the inside near the perch. Remove the water cup and Chirpy will find the water.

I would just replace the old with the new and watch him for a couple of hours. Seems a bird will alway find food and water. When I hatch chicks in the incubator, after they all dry, I touch ones beak to the water dish and it teaches the rest to drink. Only need to do it once. You may need to show Chirpy that there is water in his new toy. Yes, he will think you got him a new toy.

Yesterday I put the silo in the place where the water dish was located. Chirpy seems to think there is a new toy in her cage and keeps on exploring it.
